The role of Club Welfare Officer is a requirement of England Athletics and best practice. Welfare officers ensure members have trained and trusted people to speak to about a concern, either within the club or, at times, outside athletics.  Welfare officers also manage and report concerns about children or adults at risk in an appropriate way and ensure the right information is shared with the right people at the right time.
